1 - Know the New York Surrogates' Bill of Rights and educate your staff accordingly.


2 - Be informed regarding New York Department of Health's guidelines regarding medically screening surrogates and obtaining informed consent. Also be prepared to provide information for the voluntary tracking systems.


3 - Avoid potential conflicts of interest.
